After the 1st and 2nd VIII trials, the remainder of us were still keen to carry on rowing and stayed together to form the THIRD EIGHT. During the Head Race season our rows improved steadily and culminated in a time at Sanford only one second behind that of our 2nd VIII. In the regatta season, with valuable coaching from Mr. Denny, Mr. Bewick, Mike Key and Mr. Mawer we became more of a crew and our efforts were rewarded with a win in Novice Eights at Worcester and a good row at the National Schools. Although marred by a few accidents, the season was generally successful.
