The Senior Bumps

The bumps were rowed late in the Lent Term. School became Head of the River, toppling Farm, but the outstanding row of the series was by Eddy, who made a bump out of the second division and an overbump in the first division on the second day. Mr Robin Leach, who has been Secretary of Avon County Head Race for the past 21 years, was Guest of Honour at the Bumps Supper, and he was presented with a print of the Dundas Aqueduct in recognition of his work for school rowing. He mentioned in his speech that Monkton was the only school to have raced at every Avon Head Race.

Head of the River (School): bow S.B. Austin, J.N.Salisbury, P.J.Alvis, str J.M.LeRoy, cox A .P.Skailes.
