'B' Crews are in a difficult but important position. They must train as well as they can, and yet the better they train the more likely they are to lose their best member to the 'A' crew! This year's J15B was no exception. They took a few worthwhile scalps but were always a group of oarsmen of varying abilities rather than a cohesive unit, and paid the price in competitions. That several remain keen to challenge for the 'A' crew next year is a tribute to the good spirit of the crew overall, and the dedicated coaching of Pat Bamber and Andy Maddocks who held the crew together through the difficulties of squad selection during the Head Race season and did most of the work in the Summer. They more than earned their home brew at the end!
