We formed an eight ready for the head race at Bristol Docks. Despite the rain, there was enthusiasm and high morale. This attitude was repeated at Saltford, where we obtained valuable experience for the next head race, the Schools' Head. Disaster struck, only a few metres into the race, when we broke a blade. This ended the head race season on a rather low note. At the beginning of the summer term, the decision was made to move into fours for the regatta season. We trained in preparation for the regatta at Bridgnorth, where we had a disappointing draw against the eventual winners; however we proved to have potential as a crew. We enjoyed our first season of rowing, and hope to continue the girls' participation with equal zest next season.
