Comments

I am sorry to see a decline in the amount given to the club by means of annual donations. Recent OMs have been rather slow to set up Standing Orders; please do consider doing so now, so that your successors in the club can benefit from funding in the same way that you did. Rowing kit was bought by the school boat club using a different scheme this year, so turnover for us was much reduced. Barclays Bank have indicated that our bank charges will be much lower from now on, because our account has been changed to a different category.

The recommendations of the Governors' Working Party clearly have implications for the future of the Bluefriars fund. Young OMs who are still at University or just starting out on careers can be assured that the Club will be grateful for their annual donations, which will, as in past years, help towards the costs of holiday rowing and the occasional provision of special items of equipment. It may well be that a separate fund will be set up to cater for larger items of capital expenditure.
