This has been an eventful year for the Boat Club. After a Sabbatical from work at school, I have now left the full time staff, but hope to continue my involvement with the Club for a while yet. My freedom from other responsibilities at school allowed me to coach almost every age group and crew at one time or another during 1994, which was a tiring but enjoyable experience for me at least.
My speech at the Boat Club dinner gave me an opportunity to say a few things that I thought were of some importance; these thoughts might well have formed an Editorial, so they are re-printed elsewhere in this newsletter.
The Governors of the School set up a working party whose task was to study the Boat Club in depth; they have very recently reached their conclusions, and I am grateful to the Chairman of the working party for writing an article which appears in this newsletter summarising their conclusions.
