The History of the Boat Club, Prints, Mugs, Clothing We have large stocks of Dick Hole‘s hardback book, The History of MCSBC 1878-1978. These were originally sold for £5 a copy. We will be giving them to all who make donations to the Bluefriars Charitable Trust, until we run out! Signed Prints of the Aqueduct are still available at £25 each, unframed. Bluefriars Coffee Mugs are given as prizes at our Head Race. They also make good presents, and can be obtained from the Secretary. Supporters, parents and OMs may like to buy Bluefriars sweatshirts - good for cold river banks. Items sold to present members of the Boat Club are sold at cost (sometimes below cost). Others are charged a bit more than cost, and the small profit goes to Bluefriars Funds. True Blue If you see the film (not as good as the book), look out for a Monkton 1st VIII top, worn by Nick Cross in an early scene. 50 Years to Row - A History of the National Schools Regatta Copies of this illustrated history of the regatta, which includes a picture of the 1969 VIII and its coach, John Millbourn, as well as several other mentions of MCS can be obtained from the Secretary, price £5. All proceeds go to the NSR, to further their work for school rowing. Front Cover The photo of the aqueduct on the front cover was taken by Jo Short. The original print was given to Brian Mawer at the Boat Club picnic by the club as a leaving present.
