The dinner will be held at Leander Club on Friday 27th April 2001 at 7.00 pm for 7.45 pm. Our Guest will be Mr Richard Spratley, coach of Oxford Brookes University, at which all four of the Monktonian GB Internationals of 2000 have continued their rowing careers.

It is hoped that contemporaries of Rowley Douglas and Steve Williams (particularly the Monkton 2nd VIII they rowed in) will attend, as well as others who went on from Monkton to Brookes. Members of the Girls' VIII that rowed at Henley in 1995 are planning to come.

We hope that the party will also include many other Bluefriars (former pupils, parents, supporters) who would welcome the opportunity to congratulate the internationals.

The cost of the dinner will be £35 a head for diners over the age of about 25. This increased cost over previous dinners will allow us to subsidise younger diners who will pay £30 (£25 if hard pressed!). However, anyone who would be deterred from coming on grounds of cost is asked to get in touch with JMB to see if further subsidy can be given. We have already been promised a donation of £500 from a well-wisher to help to make the cost bearable for as many as possible. Any others prepared to sponsor 'young seats' at the dinner are invited to do so as early as possible.
