Julian Bewick

continues as Chairman of WAGS (the Wiltshire, Avon, Gloucestershire and Somerset Region of the Amateur Rowing Association), and Treasurer of the Kitchin Society of school rowing coaches. He coached Bath University at Henley, where they got through one round before going out to the winners.

Stephane Girard

, son of our rowing host in Nantes, who rowed in the Monkton VIII last year, has gone on to Nottingham University, where he is rowing in their lightweight squad.

Andrew Grant

, last year's Gap student coach came to us from the Cherwell crew at Oxford, and has now gone on to row at Marlow after a short stay at City of Oxford.

Jeremy Hepworth

(a Bluefriars Trustee) rowed in the Wyfolds, and got through to the semi-final.

Luke Howells

is still very much an active oarsman and is currently Captain of Thames Tradesmen's Rowing Club.

Simon Kelly

is Captain of Kingston University Boat Club.

Brian Mawer

continues to work as Mupiro Rowing Services, serving the local rowing community.

Barry Taylor

coached the Gloucester Junior Womens VIII, which represented England at the Home Countries Regatta in Ghent. The won their event, beating Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Belgium.

Zara Thompson

is the new teacher in charge of rowing at Hereford Cathedral School. Julian Bewick attended the HCSBC Annual dinner in the Great Hall of the Bishop's Palace in Hereford, an occasion whose style was based on the Bumps Supper of MCSBC - an annual event until 1994.

Readers will be sorry to hear that Dinah Vaisey has died; she was Domestic Supervisor at MCS for some years. She was always interested in how crews were getting on, and was a regular contributor to Bluefriars funds until her death.
