For the first time in a number of years we have had no goings thankfully but a number of staff have been recruited to help coach throughout the Club over the next year and beyond. Charlie Maidment arrived from Merton College, Oxford and has already spent a year with us, having coached the year 9 boys last year. She will be taking over the running of the year 9 group in 2010. Chloe Orchin joins us from Homerton BC, Cambridge were she coxed the Women's First VIII to many successes. Chloe will also coach year 9. Dan Hubbard joins the staff from Beechen Cliff school and has never sat in a boat before but despite this he is determined to show that even non rowers can learn quickly. Dan will help to coach with Chloe and Charlie. Finally we also welcome Rhiannon Jones, who has an impressive CV. Having coxed throughout her career Rhiannon became president of Reading University BC and coxed the First VIII to much success throughout her time there. She was also selected to cox the adaptive coxed four at the Munich World Cup and Poznan World Rowing Championships this year, winning gold at both events. Rhiannon will be coaching the Senior girls and year 10 boys as well as helping throughout the club.
We welcome all these new staff and wish them all the very best for a successful 2010 season.
