To get to The National Watersports Centre
FROM THE SOUTH
Leave M1 at 21A (immediately after Leicester Forest East services). Keep on the A46 in the direction of Newark until you arrive at the roundabout offering A52 Nottingham.
HPNWSC is on the A52 to the South East of Nottingham.
FROM THE NORTH
Leave M1 at junction 24. The A453 will take you to Nottingham (approx. 10 miles).
Once in West Bridgford (the area south of the River Trent) you need to leave on the A52 (towards Grantham).
HPNWSC is on your left after about two miles. (Follow the brown signposts.)
FROM THE WEST
Exit 24 of the M1 is still the best place to head for. Follow directions as North.
FROM THE EAST
Try to approach Nottingham on the A52 (as from Grantham).
HPNWSC lies on this road about 2 miles from the city.
Supporters' Marquee
Supporters usually gather at the Monkton Tent, which is normally oppposite the Finish Tower, as marked on the map. (Zoom out for a more general picture.)
In 2011 the tent will be at Position 29, which is on the SOUTH side of the lake. This is near position we had in 2009 and 2010 . (See NSR website>spectators>marquees).
There is room for two or three cars next to the Marquee. Please phone Julian Bewick on 07970 611 411 to see if there is room when you arrive. Please note the instructions from the regatta about the car route to the Marquee. We usually have a barbecue and other food. On the Grassy Bank (North Side) pitches run from the finish line towards the start. Numbers 1 Ð 9 are at the rear of the parking area. Numbers 10 Ð 25 run from the scoreboard along the top of the ridge towards the start. On the Grassy Bank (South Side of the course) numbers 26 Ð 37 are beyond the bus stop. Vehicle access to these is via Adbolton Lane, past the main entrance to the Centre and after about 600 metres turn left down the lane leading to the ski-tow lake. The route is clearly signposted. Car park charges are the same on either side of the course. However, spectators may wish to leave vehicles in Car Park ÔBÕ (free) and walk through to the viewing area alongside the south course road.
